Clay Face Mask Tips

Are you using your Face Mask correctly?

You should not let a clay mask dry completely on your face. When you let a clay mask dry, you could have unwanted side effects. The “wet” phase of a face mask is when your skin soaks up all the good stuff.

When it starts to dry, the mask “stimulates your blood flow” as it gets tighter on your skin. But if you let it get too dry, it starts sucking up natural oils, and that’s not good news. Nobody wants a flaky dried out face!!

A few tips when using a clay mask:

Wash your face before you use a clay mask. It’s not a face wash, and you don’t want to end up sealing in any nasties from your makeup.

Exfoliating is a good idea before using a mask. When you’re finished and you’ve washed your face clean, make sure you moisturise and replenish any natural oils that have been soaked up by the clay.

You only need a thin layer to utilise the mask’s purifying qualities.

Don’t use hot water to rinse the mask off, it can be quite drying, we suggest using luke warm.

Try not to leave the mask on for more than 10 minutes. If it has completely dried and cracked then it has been way too long!

Use a soft damp towel to remove the mask. Using a dry or rough towel may damage your skin. Remember that your skin on your face and neck is extremely delicate!

We also suggest waiting about an hour before applying moisturiser as your skin needs time to breathe.
